DESCRIZIONE DEL PRODOTTO
Beautiful condition for this type of coin. These coins were minted from ingots seized from the Dutch ship Ouvidor, captured by Captain Bouvet, a French privateer. The coin was named after Governor General Charles Decaen. Due to the hand-crafted minting process carried out by Aveline, many of these coins show the beginnings of value obliteration on the reverse. In 1942, Victor Guilloteau reported that General Decaen had had 1,128,500 francs minted, representing a production of 112,850 coins.
